The Esports & Gaming Summer Camp at Great Lakes Gaming in Rochester, NY, is an immersive, one-of-a-kind experience for kids ages 8-12 and 13-16 who are passionate about gaming. Over the course of a week, campers go beyond just playing games—they develop teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills through structured lessons, hands-on coaching, and engaging activities.
Campers will explore topics like game strategy, communication, sportsmanship, and the fundamentals of esports competition. They’ll also dive into beginner coding through Minecraft modding, where they learn how to customize and create in-game experiences. Additionally, campers will develop video editing skills, recording their own gameplay and creating highlight reels to showcase their best moments. They’ll gain insight into content creation, storytelling, and basic editing techniques to bring their gaming experiences to life.
With access to high-end gaming PCs, consoles, and a variety of popular titles, campers take on team challenges, refine their skills, and forge lasting friendships. The camp culminates in Presentation Day, where families are invited to see firsthand what their child has learned. Campers will share their gameplay strategies, highlight reels, and coding projects, celebrating their growth and achievements.
