An Evening of Bacharach - Supporting Music in the Schools, is an annual concert, to raise funds to support music in our schools. The concert will feature the music of Burt Bacharach - an American composer, songwriter, record producer, and pianist who is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential figures of 20th-century popular music. One of the most popular artists in modern country music, Vince Gill is famous for his top-notch songwriting, world-class guitar playing and warm, soaring tenor, all wrapped up in a quick and easy wit. Gill achieved his big breakthrough in 1990 with “When I Call Your Name,” which won both the Country Music Association’s (CMA) Single and Song of the Year awards as well as a Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance, Male. Since then, Gill has won 17 additional CMA Awards, including Song of the Year four times – making him the most-awarded artist in that category in CMA history, and a total of 22 Grammy Awards, his most recent one for Best Country Solo Performance – “When My Amy Prays.” The Academy of Country Music has conferred on Gill eight awards, including its Home Depot Humanitarian Award and the Career Achievement Award.

The Eastman School of Music's Barbara B. Smith World Music Series presents Gamelan, with directors Ken Luk and I Nyoman Suadin. Admission is free and open to the public. Recommended for ages 6 and above.

Each Sunday evening at 9 PM, October through April, the Schola Cantorum, an ensemble of voices and historical instruments directed by Stephen Kennedy, performs the 30-minute liturgy by candlelight. On the first Sunday of each month, a Candlelight Concert at 8:30 PM precedes Compline.

Going for Baroque is a weekly series of mini-recitals at the Memorial Art Gallery, offered each Sunday at 1:30 PM and again at 3:00 PM. It offers the opportunity for students from the Eastman School of Music to perform alongside professional musicians on the Italian Baroque organ on the second floor of the museum. The 25-minute mini-recital is included with museum admission.

The four met in the Circle Singing community of vocal improvisers started by Bobby McFerrin and members of his Voicestra. Assuming roles normally played by instruments, from vocal percussion to bass or horn lines to soloing, they create music that is by turns soulful, whimsical, lyrical, playful, and funny. From moment to moment, you never know what will happen, and neither do they! There could be interactive moments where you get to influence – or participate in – the music making. The Hochstein School’s free noontime Live from Hochstein concert series features Hochstein students, faculty members, alumni, and educators from Nazareth University. Broadcast live on WXXI Classical. Hosted by WXXI Classical's Mona Seghatoleslami, Live from Hochstein is the longest running live broadcast concert series in Western New York. Broadcast live from Hochstein Performance Hall (50 North Plymouth Ave. in Rochester), the series presents performances by some of the finest artists from the Rochester area’s musical community. Each of these concerts runs from 12:10-12:50 p.m., giving downtown business people, teachers, families, students, and friends an opportunity to enjoy classical music during the noon hour.

The Lightfoot Band is not a tribute act—these are the original musicians who recorded and toured with Gordon Lightfoot for decades. The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra returns to Rochester, NY on Mother's Day for an afternoon of classic big band music!
